Here Comes Santa Claus

HO! HO! HO!

"A" is for Adelyn

She is my little cupcake.

How to Build a Bear

First get to the store and take in your surroundings...so many choices! Noah chose a monkey instead of a bear.

Pick out the best noise maker

Make sure baby sister is still asleep

Wait in line and practice being patient

Pick out a heart to go inside

Here is the heart Noah picked

and he sealed it with a kiss.

Now you put the heart & noise maker in the monkey and fill it up with stuffing

tie up the back

give him a bath

brush him off

and dress him up and name him. Noah named his "Blue".

Then take him home and love him forever.

Halloween

My Lil' Punkins...

Our first cake ball attempt

Uncle Zack came over from Dallas and we all went to the Fall Festival at our church then to my parent's house for a Halloween Party- hayride, dry ice in the pool, BBQ, and lots of candy.

Fun was had by all

Noah + Elijah= BFF

In the Fall of 2007 at my first BSF meeting I sat next to girl that looked around my same age. We started chatting and discovered that we were pregnant and had the same due dates. You know how in life there are some people you just automatically connect with? Well Rebecca is one of those people. I am so thankful the Lord put her in my life and one of the reasons is her little boy Elijah. He was born just a few days after Noah and they have been best friends ever since.

State Fair

We went to the State Fair of Texas

I think Noah's favorite part was riding the train from Fort Worth to Dallas.

Or maybe his favorite part was getting to see Uncle Zack

Once Uncle Zack arrived they were inseparable.

His least favorite part was the amusement park ride. The moment it started Noah's cheeks puffed up like he was about to vomit but luckily it was just a false alarm.

We ate corn dogs, burgers, fudge, and gummy worms. We visited the car show, watched the dog show, and saw the blue ribbon animals- reminded me of Charlotte's Webb. It was one of our 1st family outings since Addy's arrival and it was a complete success!

"Punkin" Patch

Growing Like A Weed

8 Weeks Old

So many things I love about my Adelyn Grace....

How you bury your face into me as you fall asleep

Double Chin

Smile

Laugh

A special cry, reminds me of a kitten, that lets me know you are looking for me

How your face lights up when big brother comes around

Loves being cuddled

Life is so much sweeter with you in it.

Back to School

Noah had his 1st day back at preschool. He was a pro... not a tear shed.

We are thankful for preschool, so many fun things to do and learn but I'm always happy when 2:30 rolls around and I get to pick him up. I love how he runs to the door and says "Mama"...it makes my heart smile every time.

Life with Addy

We LOVE you, Addy Grace!

Your big brother loves to check on you and help change your diapers. The other day you were in your swing and I caught your brother saying, "Shh Addy, go night- night"

You did not enjoy your first bath.

When we took you for your 2 week check up you weighed 8lbs 2oz...a whole pound up from your birth weight!

The past 3 weeks have been such a joy having you here with us. You are such a sweet baby, we feel so blessed. You are already spoiled and want to be held all the time, that's ok because there are plenty of people that want to hold you.

Adelyn Grace

Our sweet girl has arrived and we are so in love.

My water broke getting out of bed Saturday morning. I stayed at home until 5 pm hoping labor would start on it's own but had no luck so I went to the hospital to get started on Pitocin. I was super nervous about my low platelet count affecting my ability to get an epidural, especially since I was on Pitocin. I think the lowest part of my entire birth experience was when the nurse told me that the Anesthesiologist reviewed my lab work and did not feel comfortable giving me an epidural. WHAT!?! The ability to get an epidural should be my choice, not someone else's. I, of course, asked to speak to the Anesthesiologist. There was no way he was going to tell me "no" without a detailed explanation. In walked the Anethesiologist and out came the tears but before I could say a word he told me that he re-reviewed the lab work again and that he would be willing to give me an epidural. Praise the Lord!!!! I assured him I would give it my best shot without the epidural but took comfort in knowing that I had options.

I did give it a good shot. I was just plugging along with my contractions when all of a sudden they were ever 2-3 min apart and lasting a min. I think at some point my head started spinning. I got to a 10 but Adelyn was still at a -1 station, meaning I wouldn't be able to push until she came down a little further. So 6 hours into my Pitocin induced labor I demanded for the Pitocin to be turned off and for my epidural immediately. I will NEVER EVER try natural again! Mike tells me I called on Jesus over 100 times during the difficult time in my labor. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved that epidural. I loved the numbness and how each contraction felt less and less severe as the medicine kicked in. I was such a nicer patient..no nurse wants their patient to threaten to pull out their IVs. I rested for 1 hr and then it was time to push. I pushed two times and out she came...so different than Noah where I pushed for 2 hours. She is beautiful, looks a lot like her brother. She is very cuddly and I can't get enough of her.

We are home now and lovin' life with our little family. Noah has been amazing with Addy. He is going to be such a good big brother.
